Meet Ahmad Washington
MovementUP Founder and CEO Ahmad Washington is a nationally experienced speaker, professional development trainer, author, music artist, minister, and youth development professional with more than two decades of experience working directly with children, teenagers, families, educators, and organizational leaders.
Before launching MovementUP full time, Ahmad spent more than 20 years serving young people and families in residential childcare, education, ministry, counseling, mentoring, and leadership environments.
Those experiences shaped a philosophy that now drives MovementUP:
You cannot positively influence people you have never learned how to connect with.
Ahmad is also the author of the Amazon #1 bestselling book The Cycle of Connection: Every Student Needs a Cheerleader, a Counselor, and a Coach, which provides educators, parents, coaches, counselors, mentors, and youth leaders with a practical framework for understanding what young people need from the adults who serve them.
His ability to combine storytelling, research, practical frameworks, humor, vulnerability, music, and more than two decades of hands-on experience creates learning experiences that don't simply inspire people in the room—they give them tools they can use after the session is over.
